Vitriolic began as a one piece band. Stephen Hewitson, Vitriolic's creator, had been playing in a live band for a number of years and was tiring of playing the same songs repeditively. It was from this frustration that the writing began. Songs would evolve from a single guitar riff into the complete songs you hear today....
As the sounds progressed there was a definite feeling that, while good, they were lacking in some regards. Like icing on a cake Ben Latinac joined the fold as vocalist. Song ideas were presented to Ben with the underlying structures and riffs mostly complete. Ben began writing lyrics immediately...
Vitriolic realised that there is no point creating music if there is nobody listening to it. This motivated the, now two piece band, to finish the first three tracks as a demo and release them to the general public. This was completed early 2005, and songs were given air play on the likes of 2RRR, 2BFM and even made it onto the Asylum Radio, Everything on black DVD.
Soon after the demo was finished work began on the album. This was to contain the demo songs re-recorded along with many new tracks. The writing process continued with Steve and Ben working to gether to try and come up with something heavy yet still with some sort of melody. The album was recorded at Bluegum studios and completed late 2005, mixing was undertaken at Toyer studios. After many months of hard work there was finally a product to show for all the hard work. Vitriolic are in the process of writing a new album at present. Many of the song structures are complete thus far with lyrics and song titles still forth coming. The second release from the band will, in my totally biased opinion, sound better. I will not try and describe the music suffice it to say there will be plenty of variety on the next album...
